The East End Food Co-op is a growing business that operates in a diverse, fast-paced retail environment. We are energetic, cooperative, and committed employees who enjoy helping others through exceptional customer service and who share a love for good, healthful food. We serve our community seven days a week, 361 days a year (we are closed on Thanksgiving and the following day, Christmas, and New Year’s Day).

Employee Benefits

  • Competitive Wages: With opportunities for advancement.
  • Discounts: All employees receive a 25% discount on purchases, as well as a discount on special orders.
  • Paid time off: We offer all employees flexible, easy-to-manage sick and personal time, including both part-time and full-time. Full-time employees can earn up to 26 paid days off each year.
  • Paid parental leave: We offer up to six weeks of paid parental leave.
  • Paid holiday benefits: In addition to paid sick and personal time, employees are paid for holidays when the Co-op is closed. Employees are also paid time-and-a-half if they work on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day; May Day; Memorial Day; Juneteenth, 4th of July; or Labor Day.
  • Paid bereavement leave: Employees receive up to seven days of paid bereavement/emergency leave.
  • Healthcare: Each full-time employee who completes a trial period is eligible to sign up for a generous and comprehensive health/dental/vision plan. The Co-op pays 80% of insurance premiums.
  • Short-term disability: This benefit is fully funded by the Co-op for all employees who have completed a trial period.
